Ubon United Football Club (Thai สโมสรฟุตบอลอุบล ยูไนเต็ด), is a Thai defunct professional football club based in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. The club plays in the Thai League 2. The club was formed in 2015 and entered the Regional League Division 2 to allocated into the North-East Division from Derby match province project.
History
In 2015 Assistant Professor Dr Wirasak Jinarat, chancellor of The Eastern University of Management and Technology (UMT), filed a request with the Football Association of Thailand for founding a football club by separating from Ubon UMT F.C. and began 2015 in the Regional League Division 2 Northeast Zone. In 2016 the club won the Thai Division 1 League and were promoted to the Thai League 1 for the first time.
A new ground, UMT Stadium, was built stadium in The Eastern University of Management and Technology (UMT), from which the club has taken its name. The stadium was inaugurated for the 2017 season.
At the end of 2018, The club changed the name and logo to Ubon United.
The club was dissolved at the end of season 2019 after the club not passed the club licensing due to wage problems.
L'Ubon United è stata fondata nel 1998 come Ubon Ratchathani Football Club e ha debuttato nella Thai Premier League nel 2005. La squadra ha trascorso sette stagioni nella massima serie, ma è stata retrocessa in Thai League 2 nel 2012. L'Ubon United è tornata in Thai Premier League nel 2016, ma è stata nuovamente retrocessa in Thai League 2 l'anno successivo.
L'Ubon United ha vinto numerosi trofei, tra cui la Thai Division 1 League nel 2004, la Thai FA Cup nel 2005 e la Thai League Cup nel 2017. La squadra ha anche rappresentato la Thailandia nella Coppa dell'AFC per tre volte, nel 2006, nel 2007 e nel 2018.
L'Ubon United gioca le sue partite casalinghe allo Ubon Ratchathani Stadium, che ha una capacità di 5.000 posti. I colori sociali della squadra sono il bianco e il blu.
Alcuni dei giocatori più famosi ad aver giocato nell'Ubon United includono il nazionale thailandese Kiatisuk Senamuang, l'ex giocatore del Manchester United Lee Martin e l'ex giocatore dell'Arsenal Fran Mérida.
