Futbol Clube San Francisco Masachapa is a Nicaraguan football team currently playing in the Nicaraguan Primera División. They are based in Nandasmo.

History

The club was first founded in 2009 at Diriamba; during this period they were crowned champion of the third division after winning 6–1 on aggregate against Brumas FC de Jinotega.

However, two years later, due to financial trouble, the club moved to San Rafael del Sur with the intention to call themselves the now defunct Masachapa which disappeared in 2004–2005.

However FENIFUT did not allow them and they changed their names to San Francisco Masachapa.

The Club won promotion to the primera division, after winning the promotion/relegation playoff against Deportivo Sebaco 3–2 2017 season and for the first time in the club history. [1]

The club later dropped San Francisco moniker from their name and currently known as Masachapa F.C.

Fondato nel 1970, il San Francisco FC ha vinto il suo primo campionato nel 1975. Da allora, è stato una presenza costante nella massima serie nicaraguense, vincendo altri 23 titoli. Il club ha anche vinto la Copa Nicaragua in cinque occasioni e la Supercopa Nicaragua in tre occasioni.

Il San Francisco FC è noto per il suo gioco offensivo e per i suoi numerosi gol. La squadra ha una base di tifosi appassionata ed è una delle più popolari del Nicaragua.

Il San Francisco FC è una delle squadre più importanti del Nicaragua e ha rappresentato il paese in numerose competizioni internazionali. Ha partecipato alla CONCACAF Champions League in più occasioni, raggiungendo i quarti di finale nel 2017.
