Excelsior Maassluis

Excelsior Maassluis is a football club from Maassluis, Netherlands, founded in 1918. The club's home ground is the 5,000 capacity arena known as Sportpark Dijkpolder. Excelsior won the Hoofdklasse of 2013 and became champions of the Topklasse just two years later. Also known as the Tricolores, Excelsior due to their 2016 title win, was promoted to the Tweede Divisie. As so in the division's inaugural season Excelsior ended up at fifth in the league's standings.

L'Excelsior Maassluis è una società calcistica olandese con sede a Maassluis, nella provincia dell'Olanda Meridionale. Milita nella Tweede Divisie, la terza serie del campionato olandese, e disputa le partite casalinghe al DRL Sportpark.

Il club è stato fondato il 10 maggio 1918 con il nome di "Excelsior". Nel 1927 si è fuso con il "Maassluis" e ha assunto il nome attuale.

L'Excelsior Maassluis ha vinto il campionato di Tweede Divisie una volta, nella stagione 1960-1961. Ha inoltre vinto la KNVB Beker, la Coppa d'Olanda, due volte, nelle stagioni 1930-1931 e 1932-1933.

Il club ha partecipato alla Coppa delle Coppe UEFA una volta, nella stagione 1931-1932, quando è stato eliminato al primo turno dal Ferencváros.

L'Excelsior Maassluis è una società calcistica dilettantistica e non ha mai militato nella Eredivisie, la massima serie del campionato olandese.

I colori sociali del club sono il giallo e il blu.

Lo stadio dell'Excelsior Maassluis è il DRL Sportpark, che ha una capacità di 3.000 spettatori.
