PWD de Bamenda

PWD Bamenda is a Cameroonian football club based in the City of Bamenda, Northwest Region They currently compete in the Elite One, the highest football league in Cameroon.

PWD Bamenda won their maiden domestic and first Elite One title in 2020 after they were crowned champions since the season couldn't be completed due to the effects of thethey also went on to win the Cameroon cup after beating Astres of Douala (1-0) through a free kick transformed by Chem thereby setting them a place for CAF confederations Cup preliminaries.They failed to make it to the playoffs of the league COVID-19 pandemic.

This club has several names among which are P-ton ton and Abakwa boys and is one of the oldest clubs in Cameroon, the flag bearer of the North West Region of Cameroon alongside YOSA their archrivals.

Il PWD de Bamenda è una squadra di calcio camerunese con sede a Bamenda. Fondata nel 1966, gioca nella Première Division, la massima serie del campionato camerunese di calcio.

Il club è stato fondato da un gruppo di studenti dell'Università di Bamenda. Il nome della squadra deriva dalle iniziali delle tre province della regione di Bamenda: P per Pinyin, W per Wum e D per Donga-Mantung.

Il PWD de Bamenda ha vinto il campionato camerunese per quattro volte, nel 1982, 1983, 1988 e 1991. Ha anche vinto la Coppa del Camerun per due volte, nel 1980 e nel 1985.

Il club ha partecipato a diverse competizioni internazionali, tra cui la Coppa dei Campioni d'Africa, la CAF Champions League e la CAF Confederation Cup.

Il PWD de Bamenda è una delle squadre più titolate del Camerun e ha una lunga storia di successi. È una squadra molto popolare tra i tifosi camerunesi ed è conosciuta anche a livello internazionale.
